Whether you're creating an exclusive ticket ordering window or a private event for special guests, you can lock or restrict access to standalone tickets by requiring a code to purchase them.

Lock standalone ticket sales across your entire event bucket

Doing this will lock standalone ticket sales for ALL screenings in your event bucket.

When you lock standalone tickets, passholders are still allowed to unlock tickets using their passes. If you wish to prevent passholders from purchasing tickets, you can disable ticket sales/unlocks on a pass bucket's settings page.

  1. Navigate to your Event Bucket Settings page, then scroll down to "Open Additional Settings"

  2. Select the "Standalone ticket sales locked" box

  3. Create a "Standalone ticket sales password," also known as the code that will be required to unlock standalone tickets

  4. Click Save

Now, ALL virtual and physical events in your event bucket will require this code in order for standalone tickets to be purchased. So share this code with people you wish to have access to standalone tickets.

Lock standalone ticket sales for a specific screening

Doing this will lock standalone ticket sales for a specific screening.

When you lock standalone tickets, passholders are still allowed to unlock tickets using their passes. If you wish to prevent passholders from purchasing tickets, you can disable ticket sales/unlocks on a pass bucket's settings page.

1. Navigate to the Virtual Screening or Physical Event settings page

2. Select "Sales Locked: Require customers to first enter a valid discount code in order to unlock" under the Miscellaneous section

3. Click Save

4. Navigate to Discounts and create a code that will allow access to the screening you locked -- the code doesn't need to include an actual discount! You can simply make a code that targets the locked screening and not add any percent or dollar discount.

Then share this code with anyone you wish to have access to tickets for this specific screening.

Customize the message displayed when tickets are locked

Edit the message displayed to customers when they attempt to purchase locked tickets using the Eventive Configurator.

  1. Navigate the Tickets tab in the Configurator

  2. Scroll down to "Standalone ticket sales locked"

  3. Write your custom message

  4. Click Save

What is the customer experience like?

When a screening or entire event bucket has standalone tickets locked, an audience member can click unlock/pre-order/buy ticket, but they will be prompted to enter a valid code in order to complete the purchase.

After a customer unlocks standalone tickets to a screening, they won't have to unlock them using the code again. Eventive remembers their successful unlock and doesn't ask them for the code a second time.

Remember, when you lock standalone tickets, passholders are still allowed to unlock tickets using their passes. If you wish to prevent passholders from purchasing tickets, you can disable ticket sales/unlocks on a pass bucket's settings page.
