During a live broadcast or livestream on Eventive, you can participate in a real-time chat with other audience members. This guide explains what you can do in the chat and how to keep the experience enjoyable for everyone.
Sending a Message
Type your message in the text box at the bottom of the chat panel and press the arrow button to send it.
Muting Another Audience Member
If another audience member’s messages are bothering you, you can mute them. Hover over one of their messages and click the ... button, then select Mute.
Once you mute someone:
All of their messages — including previous ones — will be hidden from you.
They will remain muted for you across all future broadcasts and livestreams on this platform, not just the current one.
Other audience members will still be able to see their messages unless they choose to mute them too.
NOTE: There is currently no way to undo a mute, so use this option only when you are sure. If you mute someone by accident, we’re sorry — this is a known limitation and something that may be addressed in a future update.
Flagging an Inappropriate Message
If you see a message that you think is inappropriate, you can flag it for the moderators to review. Hover over the message, click the ... button, and select Flag.
The message will be sent to the moderation team, who will review it and take action if needed. You do not need to do anything further after flagging.
Pinned Messages
Occasionally a moderator may pin a message to the top of the chat. This will appear above the rest of the chat stream and is usually used to share important information during the broadcast. If a pinned message is long, you can click Show More to read it in full.
Troubleshooting: Chat Not Working in Safari
If you are using an older version of the Safari browser and see an error message “Error: a.at is not a function” in the chat, try switching to a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox. This should resolve the issue immediately. Alternatively you can update your operating system, which will trigger an installation of the most recent version of Safari, but please note this can take a couple of hours and is not advised during a live broadcast.
