Increase audience participation in voting for audience awards at physical events by including a balloting QR in your screening’s pre-show and / or post-show.
Getting Started
To create a balloting QR for your audience we will need the following:
To have Online Balloting for Physical Events enabled in your balloting settings
To have a QR that is coded with the direct url to the My Tickets section of your Eventive Native Site
Example
For this example, we are using a ticket to this event. If you would like to test the balloting QR, please start by ordering a free ticket.
Pre-show / Post-Show Slide
Once you have ordered a ticket to “Standard Physical Event” from the Eventive Festival demo site, use the camera on your preferred mobile device to scan the QR code in the following sample pre-show / post-show slide.
NOTE: This QR code and sample slide was made using Canva, but you can use the QR encoder and photo / video editing software of your choice to create your balloting slide.
Scanning the QR code will take you to the “My Tickets" section of the Eventive Native site. For the Eventive Festival Demo Site, the URL that is coded to this QR code is https://festival-demo.eventive.org/tickets.
NOTE: If you have integrated Eventive with your website and are not using the Eventive Native site, you can encode the balloting QR with the URL that leads customers to the My Tickets section of their account on your website. If you have yet to build the My Tickets section of the customer account on your website, please see our resources on implementing the Client-side API Wrapper.
Voting
In the “My Tickets” section of the site, click the “VOTE” button to launch the ballot for this event and record your votes. Please note, users who are not logged in on their mobile device may be prompted to log in once they land on this page.
NOTE:Online Balloting for Physical Events must be enabled for the “VOTE” button to be visible in the My Tickets section of the customer account. If you notice that the vote button is not showing in the My Tickets page when setting this up for your own festival, please check your balloting setup to ensure that Online Balloting for Physical events is enabled.
Because this QR code takes customers to the My Tickets section of their account, you can use the same QR code for balloting for the entire festival, there is no need to encode a separate QR for each film or screening. While using the same QR code, you may choose to make one slide for each of your awards or competitions, so that you can include any sponsor information related to each specific award.
