Customize Membership Bucket Messages

Configure the messages your members see when ordering and using memberships from a membership bucket.

Use the Messages tab of the membership bucket editor to customize messages related to memberships in the membership bucket.

There are three types of Membership Bucket messages:

  • Ordering - messages that appear when an audience member buys a membership from this membership bucket

  • Using - messages that appear when an audience member uses their membership from this membership bucket to order a ticket, item, pass or another membership.

  • Recurrence - messages you can schedule to send to members

Ordering Messages

Require agreement to a waiver/terms of use before placing order

If selected, a customizable message that customers must acknowledge before purchasing the membership will appear at checkout.

Custom confirmation email message

If selected, the custom message written here will be added to the order confirmation email for this membership bucket. If selected, the message added here will override anything written under "membership order confirmation message" in the Configurator Misc tab.

Where the custom message appears in the order confirmation email:

Enabling a custom confirmation email message is a great way to add a custom message to specific membership buckets -- for example, if you want to include a special message for high level members and supporters.

NOTE: This confirmation message will not appear on the membership confirmation emails for any memberships that have been imported into Eventive using Bulk Import memberships.

Require supplementary data to be completed before purchase

This will ensure that your members provide the supplementary data that you require. Before this setting can be enabled you will first need to create your supplementary data fields.

Using Messages

Order message

When this membership bucket has a membership rule for ticket orders, members will see this message in the "Order tickets" dropdown.

The default message is "Quick order {{quantity}} {{tickets}} with membership "{{membership}}" ({{price}})..." but you can customize it.

{{quantity}} = order quantity

{{tickets}} = either "tickets" or "ticket" (quantity-dependent)

{{membership}} = name on membership

{{price}} = adjusted ticket price for membership

If you want to include the name of the membership bucket in the Quick Order message. In the following example, the membership bucket is called “Cinema Membership”

Example: "Quick order {{quantity}} {{tickets}} with Cinema Membership "{{membership}}" ({{price}})..."

Ticket order error message

Customize the message shown to members in the "Order tickets" dropdown if the membership is not enabled for ticket orders.

The default message is "{{membership}} cannot be used: Ticket orders are currently disabled for this membership." You can customize the part of the message in bold.

You can enable or disable member ticket orders under "Status" in the General tab in the membership bucket settings. Please note that disabling member ticket orders means that members cannot use their memberships to unlock tickets!

Recurrence Messages

Use Recurrence messages on membership buckets to...

  • Notify members of new benefits they'll receive upon renewal

  • Periodically update the message to keep users in the loop of what events they'll be able to access with their renewal

  • Remind users how their membership or subscription supports your organization

  • Encourage members to renew early

You can also schedule a secondary early notice email to be sent 14, 21, or 52 days before renewal!
